The Hundred Year Association has selected long time Association member E-J Electric Installation Co. Presented to remarkable organizations, leaders and contributors to the New York City Metropolitan area and the nation, the award has been granted every year since 1930 (except during WWII). The fourth-generation, family-owned business was founded and remains headquartered in New York City.
Past recipients of the award include civic leaders Thomas Dewey, Robert Moses, Robert Morgenthau and Ray Kelly; four Mayors: Fiorello LaGuardia, Robert Wagner, Rudy Giuliani and Michael Bloomberg; business leaders from industry and media; entertainers Oscar Hammerstein, Richard Rodgers and Tony Randall; and three generations of Rockefellers; as well as respected companies JB&B, Guardian Life Insurance, the New York Post; and not-for-profits Actors Fund, New York Building Congress, NY Hotel Association and many others. We are honored to have Anthony E. Mann and E-J Electric joining this list of prestigious New Yorkers.
“As CEO I am deeply honored to celebrate 125 years of safety, innovation and dedication alongside my colleagues at E-J Electric. This is a major milestone for any company and a true testament to how hard we have worked to service our clients and communities. My grandfather began working at E-J in 1912 and today, together with my daughter, four generations continue the Mann family tradition. I could not be prouder of what our company has accomplished, and I look forward to the next 125 years”, stated Mr. Mann.
“As the nation’s oldest family-owned electrical contractors, E-J Electric has upheld a reputation of unparalleled integrity, quality, service, and innovation” said Clinton W. Blume, III, President of The Hundred Year Association. “E-J Electric has been involved some of the most important projects in the Metropolitan area including, John F. Kennedy Airport’s New Terminal One Microgrid, Yankee Stadium, Moynihan Train Hall, the Kosciuszko Bridge, Ruth Bader Ginsburg Hospital, 96th Street Station for the Second Avenue Subway, One Vanderbilt, and many more,” said Mr. Blume.
“We are honored to recognize their contributions to the New York Metropolitan Area and the nation. E-J Electric’s wide range of services, from design-build to critical response, power, renewables and clean energy have contributed to making New York City a great place to live and work”, continued Mr. Blume.
As a long time, member of the Association, E-J Electric has continued its tradition of supporting the Association through its sponsorship of the Awards program for College Scholars and Public Service Awards such as The Isaac Liberman Public Service Awards and E. Virgil Conway College Scholas Awards. “They have helped to reward and recognize outstanding Civil Service Employees and exceptional College Students” added Mr. Blume.
