How are awards sponsored?

The number of awards and scholarships given each year is based solely on one thing – the number of sponsors there are. In fact, there are usually more deserving students and city workers than there are sponsors.

Nominees are interviewed by the Awards Committee starting in the summer. Prior to these meetings, the Association must notify the Department of Citywide Administrative Services how many applicants and nominees can make the cut and advance to the next round.

That is why the Association needs to know how many sponsors there will be half a year before the awards are given out.

You will present your award at a well-covered ceremony with the Mayor each December and your sponsorship will be listed throughout the year in the various programs and journals produced by the Association.
