The Hundred Year Association and the NYC Department of Design and Construction honored the academic accomplishments of this year’s winner Kaustabh Basu as well as the outstanding efforts of Rimsha Macktoom and Jennifer Yeboah at the award luncheon.
DDC’s Commissioner David Burney presented the awards to the recipients at the luncheon held on August 14th.
Kaustabh Basu is a second year undergraduate student at New York University. He is majoring in Chemistry and plans to pursue a Master’s degree and Ph.D. in chemistry upon graduation.
Kaustabh holds a 3.8 grade point average and is currently a member of NYU’s chemistry research team specializing in synthetic organic chemistry, with a focus in living cell application. For Kaustabh, stepping into a chemistry lab represents the potential to improve lives, and to make technology cleaner, healthier and more advanced. In addition to his academic interests, Kaustabh is committed to serving others and shaping the global community for generations to come. His enthusiasm and thirst for knowledge is an inspiration.
Kaustabh’s mother, Aditi Basu is an Associate Engineering Technician and Cadd Designer in the Executive Unit of the Infrastructure division.
