THE HUNDRED YEAR ASSOCIATION OF NEW YORK TO HONOR Dominick Servedio, Executive Chairman of STV Group

Dominick M. Servedio, P.E. executive chairman of STV Group will accept the 82nd annual Richard A. Cook Gold Medal Award at fundraiser gala, November14th at the Union League Club

New York, NY, June 6, 2012 – The Hundred Year Association has selected Dominick M. Servedio, P.E., executive chairman of STV Group (1912) as this year’s recipient of its annual Richard A. Cook Gold Medal Award.  Presented to remarkable leaders and contributors to the city of New York, the award has been granted every year since 1930 (except during WWII) “in recognition of outstanding contributions to the city.”

Past recipients of the award include civic leaders Robert Moses, E. Virgil Conway, Robert Morgenthau and Ray Kelly; Mayors Fiorello LaGuardia, Robert Wagner, Rudy Giuliani and Michael Bloomberg, entertainers Oscar Hammerstein, Richard Rodgers and Tony Randall; and three generations of Rockefellers.

“STV is the fourth-largest engineering firm in the New York area, and is 100% employee-owned company, which means that every employee has a personal stake in the company and its success – a powerful difference between STV and many other engineering firms.” said association president, Clinton W. Blume, III.

In 1912, Elwyn E. Seelye founded a structural engineering firm in New York City bearing his name. From these beginnings the firm would grow and evolve into a multidisciplinary practice, all while delivering upon its vision of delivering quality service to its clients.  Today, the firm consistently ranks among the top engineering/architectural firms in the country. “Elwyn Seelye’s enduring vision for excellence and innovation continues to inspire us,” said Servedio. “We have diversified into new practices, embraced going green, and utilized the latest technology to help us grow in new directions while staying true to the vision of our founders.”

“STV’s century of success is built upon the foundation of our core values,” noted Milo Riverso, Ph.D., P.E., STV’s chief executive officer and president. “From our earliest days, we were driven to provide our clients with quality service and to serve as leaders in our industry and communities. This is an exciting time for STV, as we look toward our next 100 years.”

STV is involved with world class assignments throughout the country. In New York, the firm is part of the design team for the Port Authority of NY & NJ’s World Trade Center Transportation Hub and the Long Island Rail Road East Side Access project. The firm is also the program manager and owner’s representative for One World Trade Center, and is part of the joint venture team providing construction management services for the new Moynihan Station.

“I am honored to accept this award on behalf of our company, which has such a rich history, especially here in New York. While we have 1,700 employees nationwide, 600 dedicated individuals are right here in New York City, so our roots and continued commitment to the area runs deep.” Servedio added.

The Hundred Year Association will present the Gold Medal Award to Servedio during its annual fundraiser event on November 14, 2012 at the historic Union League Club. For more information about attending the event, please contact the Association at 212.922.0791 or visit
